Redber, COLOMBIA FINCA SOFIA - Dark Roast Coffee Auto renew, Redber Coffee

The La Sofia Supremo coffee is carefully sourced from the verdant hills of Belén de Umbría, Risaralda, where small-scale farmers cultivate the beans at altitudes ranging from 1,500 to 1,750 meters. This region’s stable climate and dedicated farming practices result in beans that carry the distinct characteristics of the Colombian Andes. The predominantly Castillo variety is wet-processed and dried either on patios or using mechanical driers to ensure consistent quality.

Sweet finish and well balanced

Sweet finish and well balanced. My current favourite. Consistently good at 16g per 250 ml water fine grind.

Not roasted enough

I deny it is a medium roast - more a light or "city" roast. It preserves the fruit and acidity - a modern trend, in my opinion fails to produce a decent coffee. Crema was good, vibrant colour - if you are into modern light roasts it may well suit you.

I have almost a kilo of beans that will now be ground and used by my wife as an exfoliant.

Good. Very nice.

Interesting flavour and pleasant. Interesting can mean challenging. Not here, this is (the medium roast) light but with a pleasant upper note to it. A good mid morning coffee.

Encourages creativity!

Mine are extracted through my Rancilio Silva. Whereas I usually make up a flat white… with the Finca Sofia I enjoy making a long black topped with splash of milk. The milk knocks off any acidity and (in my opinion) reveals the beauty of this coffee. Chocolaty with a note of hazelnut and caramel. I experiment testing other beans but this is my repeat order each month. Thanks for reading my waffle :-)
PS - oh and combing your puck and adding a gauze filter actually works!!

Finca Sofia will always be a must-have for me

I've been a fan of the Colombia Finca Sofia coffee for the past three years and it has become my favorite coffee of all time. Recently, I tried the medium-dark roast for my espresso machine and it was absolutely perfect. The coffee had a rich, smooth flavor that was bold without being too bitter. I also tried this coffee in a medium roast for my filter brewing method and it tasted just as amazing.

I highly recommend the Colombia Finca Sofia coffee to anyone looking for a high-quality, delicious coffee. I will continue to purchase this coffee and explore new tastes, but Finca Sofia will always be a must-have for me.

Nice, not bitter

By the time the postage is paid it works out quite expensive for everyday usage.

Great quality coffee, Great Prices

The service at Redber is great, the quality of the coffee is always top notch and they are constantly getting new coffees in so there's always something to come back for. I have been been using them for years and they have been a godsend during the lockdown!

My favourite coffee

I love Finca Sofia coffee the most and order most of all - this is my must-have. For me this one is good for coffee machine coffee drinks (with dairy milk, also with oat milk), good for americano and also good for brewing in a cup (only needs a coarse grind). I buy this coffee in beans and enjoy the variety by changing the grind.

Lovely coffee

This was a real treat. I love how Redber show images of the flavours you might expect. but it's often difficult to describe espresso in those terms. In this case, though, the images were spot on - Banoffee pie in a cup!

If you like something stronger and darker, this may not suit, and it definitely suits milk drinks more than 'straight' shots but if you tend to drink Flat Whites, this is ideal.

The beans are quite brittle and it needs a pretty fine grind, but once it's dialled in, it's really consistent and great to work with.

Ordered a second batch straight after the first!

Columbia Finca Sofia

Literally tasted no different from supermarket pre-bagged coffee. It wasn't bad coffee, it just had no character, and certainly not as described.

Paid for next day delivery on the Monday and didn’t receive coffee until Thursday. Ordered a gift box with a message but no message or card to explain coffees when it arrived. Shame because the coffee is amazing!
