How to Get Rid of the Metallic Taste in Your Frank Green Bottle

Petra Jones |

If you’re here it’s probably because you want to get rid of that metallic taste that Frank Green water bottles sometimes have. Don’t worry, not all Frank Green bottles have this taste and it’s actually really easy to get rid of it!

The first step is to make sure the bottle is clean. Wash it out with some washing up liquid and hot water to get rid of any lingering particles. Then, you’ll want to fill the bottle with some white vinegar and hot water. Give it a good shake and let it sit in the solution for about five minutes. After that, rinse out the bottle, let it air dry. You should no longer experience that unpleasant metal taste.

Another great way to get rid of the taste is to add a little bit of bicarbonate of soda to the bottle. Fill your bottle with water and add a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda. Then shake it up so that the baking soda is evenly distributed throughout the bottle. Let it sit for few hours or overnight. The bicarbonate of soda will break down the bacteria and deposits that can cause the metallic taste.

Finally, there’s another simple solution that some people swear by. Place about a quarter cup of uncooked rice in the bottle and fill it three-quarters of the way with warm water. Shake the contents of the bottle and then let sit for five minutes before emptying and rinsing.

Hopefully, these tips will help you to get rid of the metallic taste in your Frank Green bottle.
