Great tasting coffee.Consistent flavour as always from redber.
I look forward every fortnight to what magic beans the postman might bring me.
So far all of the coffees have been great! And considering it was one of the cheaper weekly subscriptions I could find, I am very happy with the purchase!
When I first read the title of this coffee, I thought that this was going to be really rough. As I'm getting into this coffee marlarky now, I thought I'd try and sense the 'flavour notes' that the experts suggest are in the coffee. I checked up the name on Redber's website and in the description read, 'Earthy, Musky, Spicy, Tobacco'. Nice! Just what you want first thing in the morning. A refreshing cup of musky tobacco!! Try as I might I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I don't get any of these flavours. The coffee is stronger than others that I have tried but quite drinkable. I like strong coffees and this didn't disappoint. I probably wouldn't specifically order this type but I wouldn't bin these. On another note, Redber were a little light on their 250g weight of beans that I ordered. I think this weight must include the paper bag that they come in because total, with bag was 256g, without, 239g. I'm using an Aeropress with 25g coffee beans ground fine in a Porlex slim. If anyone else has coffee suggestions, maybe they could include them in their reviews. I know it's largely down to taste and I'm keen to learn how to make a decent cup of coffee and get the most out of my beans.
I have learnt through the surprise me coffees that I do not like dark roast. They at least to me taste cheap. However, I have yet to be disappointed with the medium and dark medium coffees I received. This was no exception. The coffee was Kenya Bora and it is very nice. I would definitely recommend it.
