Delivery Update 06/08/25 – Royal Mail 48
Many Royal Mail 48 deliveries are delayed in certain areas due Royal Mail scanning issues and staff shortages. The Royal Mail tracking simply says 'We are expecting it'. This is not correct. Royal Mail collects from Redber daily at 16h00.  All our orders are dispatched within 24 to 48 hours.  Please allow a little extra time for your order to arrive. If your parcel is urgent we suggest you use the 24 hour service. 

Due to the poor services our customers are receiving from Royal Mail we will be reviewing the companies we use for delivery in the coming months.

At Redber, we roast all our coffee to order to ensure maximum freshness. We aim to roast and dispatch your coffee on the same day your order is placed. Roasting takes place six days a week, Monday to Saturday, with dispatches occurring Monday to Friday.

We do our best to process and dispatch all orders by 4:00pm daily. However, during busy periods, please allow an additional working day as a contingency in case of a roasting backlog.

  • Standard Tracked Delivery (2–5 working days) – Free
  • Express Tracked Delivery (1–2 working days) – £5.00 (Please note: delivery services do not guarantee next-day delivery with roasted-to-order coffee)

For Orders Under £40

  • Free delivery applies to Mainland UK only.
  • Northern Ireland & Scottish Highlands and Islands (0.01kg - 5kg): £5.00
  • Northern Ireland & Scottish Highlands and Islands (5.01kg - 30kg): £15.00 
  • Delivery to PO Boxes & BFPO is not available.

For orders exceeding 100kg, please contact us directly for a quote. If your order is unusually large or heavy, additional delivery charges may apply. In such cases, we will contact you before dispatch.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt. We will offer a replacement or a refund where appropriate.

We recommend inspecting your goods before signing for them. If this isn't possible, please sign as ‘unexamined’. Any visible damage should be reported to the delivery driver at the time of delivery.

To help us resolve the issue quickly, please include photographs of the damaged goods when you get in touch.

Right to Cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods. You will be responsible for the return shipping costs.

To be eligible for a refund, items must be returned unused, in perfect condition, and in their original, unopened packaging. Delivery charges are non-refundable. Please allow up to 14 working days for the return and refund process.

To initiate a return, please contact us at contact@redber.co.uk or call 01483 80 85 80, quoting your order number (found in your order confirmation email and packing slip).

Exemptions from the Right to Cancel

The right to cancel does not apply to:

  • Goods that are perishable or have a short shelf life
  • Customised or personalised items
  • Items sealed for hygiene reasons that have been unsealed after delivery
  • Services that have already been completed

As all our coffee is roasted to order and customised for your chosen brew method, some products may not be eligible for cancellation. This does not affect your statutory rights if a product is faulty or not as described.

A little disappointing

My main problem with the machine is that the grinder does not grind the coffee finely enough and therefore/also uses too much coffee. Sometimes I find that the coffee in the filter has not been wetted to the fullest extent so that the full flavour of the beans has not been developed. This means it is a waste of expensive coffee.

I have developed a technique whereby I "hold" the hot water in the filter chamber and do not let it flow into the flask until it has had a chance to fully wet the coffee and develop flavour. At least this way I can set the machine to the smallest amount of coffee yet develop the fullest flavour by ensuring the water fully wets the grounds. I feel that I should not have to do this and also the grinder should be capable of doing a fine "ground" so that the machine is more economical with the coffee as the machine uses a lot of coffee.
The plus side is I don't get coffee grounds all over the surface which I used to get when I ground my beans myself! Flavour is good if I use this technique

Black Coffee

There is so much brand awareness when it comes to coffee machines of all sorts these days, particularly Delonghi, Sage, Gaggia to mention just a few before you get to the more electronic ones like Jura, Phillips & Siemens all can do coffee of various types if that's your thing. I like the idea of the flashy bits, but what I want most of all out of my coffee is the taste of good black coffee! By that I mean not over or underextracted - no milk or syrup - just black drip/filter coffee made from good quality, freshly roasted beans, and that's why I started looking around for a new machine. I'd previously had a Melitta Caffe Solo which has served me well, but emptying out the trays was a bit messy, and it's setup for espresso primarily.

It's a fair amount of cash for something that there are much cheaper options for, but I have a wife to please as well, and I can set it up with water, beans, paper, and set the timer for just before we wake up in the morning - and that was a winner for her :) It took a few days to dial in the grind to get a balanced extraction but it's there now, and having gone from espresso based americano to filter with unbleached papers and no sediment in the bottom of the cup, I wish I'd done so sooner. The ceramic grinder in this is quieter as well. Only downside is the anti-drip which is often the way with these things doesn't. You've got to make sure the pot is sat properly on the base or it'll be slow and overflow.
