Delivery and Returns

Delivery Update 06/08/25 – Royal Mail 48
Many Royal Mail 48 deliveries are delayed in certain areas due Royal Mail scanning issues and staff shortages. The Royal Mail tracking simply says 'We are expecting it'. This is not correct. Royal Mail collects from Redber daily at 16h00.  All our orders are dispatched within 24 to 48 hours.  Please allow a little extra time for your order to arrive. If your parcel is urgent we suggest you use the 24 hour service.

Due to the poor services our customers are receiving from Royal Mail we will be reviewing the companies we use for delivery in the coming months.

You can find the latest updates from Royal Mail here.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

  • Aroma: Earthy with a sweet, subtle smokiness

Brewing Methods and Serving Suggestions

For a balanced and rich cup, try brewing this medium-dark roast using a drip coffee maker, which enhances its chocolatey and tobacco-like notes. It also shines in an Aeropress, delivering a concentrated yet smooth coffee that highlights its complex flavours. For a unique twist, try it as a cold brew, which offers a refreshing way to enjoy its earthy and sweet undertones, with a mellow finish.

Old Brown Java Origin and Details

Originating from the island of Java, Indonesia, Old Brown Java undergoes a unique ageing process that gives it its characteristic old brown colour and deep, complex flavours. The beans are monsooned, a process in which they are exposed to the humid winds that reduce acidity and enhance earthy, chocolatey notes. The result is a coffee that is both distinctive and refined.

  • Region: Java, Indonesia
  • Processing Method: Monsooning, dry-processed
  • Ageing: Aged for several years to develop unique flavour profile

Bitter and overroasted

Like drinking from an ashtray spilled on an asphalt floor. I'm not seeing the chocolate or vanilla notes that are supposed to be here because it's all blown away by the excessive smoky burnt flavour.

Not good unfortunately

First try if this and I was hoping for a rich warming brew, but even from opening the bag, it smelt bad. Bitter, almost chemical taste. Luckily I only got a small bag, as it went in the bin after attempting to make a coffee from it.

Poor coffee

This coffee was very bad. Bitter, barely drinkable. This was also true of the previous delivery. Which is a shame, as I have previously been happy with redber coffee. However, I have cancelled my subscription and will not buy from them again.

Java Down ?

Had this coffee several times but this one is .... not good. Very bitter rough acid and hard to drink.
Maybe it got mixed up with some building aggregates?
Surely there is some mistake, this coffee should be a warm heavyweight champion impossible to get wrong.
Has the world gone mad ?

Horrible, super bitter with no flavour

I have had Java coffee many times in the past and always loved it. This batch, however, was about the worst coffee I've ever had! I wonder if global warming is destroying the crops?
