A Review of Melitta Amano Pour Over Coffee Maker

The Melitta Amano Brewer Pour Over is an excellent choice for making pour over coffee in an easy and stylish manner. This pour over coffee maker is simple to use and clean, with a sleek and modern design and it is an excellent choice for coffee enthusiasts seeking a no-fuss coffee brewing experience.

The Melitta Amano brewer is made of high-quality stainless steel and has a double-wall insulated carafe that will keep your coffee hot for up to two hours. This pour over also has an adjustable flow rate for greater control over the pouring process resulting in a more precise and consistent cup of coffee.

1. Start by grinding the coffee beans of your choice to a medium-fine grind and place the filter into the brewer.

2. Close the filter holder outlets. This allows the coffee bed to be optimally dampened and ready for the extraction process. Pour a small amount of water over the freshly ground coffee, just enough to dampen the entire portion. Now the blooming begins. Gases caused by roasting escape, which you can see in the generation of bubbles on the surface of the coffee. This improves the coffee extraction, and the essence of the taste can be perfectly developed. The result is a full aroma.

3. Turn the knob to open the filter holder outlets once the blooming process is complete. Pour the water slowly and evenly over the ground coffee in a circular motion. At a rate that keeps the water level in the filter just above the coffee bed at all times. As a general rule, the pouring speed equals the draining speed. The ideal flow is provided by the filter ribs and the two outlets. The result is an even extraction.

  • Looks: With a sleek white finish and minimalist design, the Melitta Amano Brewer Pour Over is an aesthetically pleasing coffee maker. It would look great on any counter.
  • Simplicity: The Melitta Amano Brewer Pour Over is simple to operate. You won't have to measure out your coffee grounds because the included Melitta basket filters will do it for you.
  • Removeable filter holder 1x4 - The removable filter holder 1x4® made from high-quality tritanium not only ensures ideal brewing with its special filter ribs, but also optimum coffee flavour.
  • Perfect blooming - Thanks to its sealable outlet the filter holder of the Melitta AMANO® revolutionises brewing by hand. It ensures that the coffee has enough time for blooming and the aroma can develop in an ideal way.
  • Filter seal with drop stop - The sealable metal outlet on the filter holder serves as an additional integrated drip stop. This prevents the coffee continuing to drip and makes cleaning easier.
  • Easy to Clean: The Melitta Amano Coffee Pour Over is incredibly easy to clean, thanks to its removable parts and dishwasher-safe design.
  • Price: The Brewer is also reasonably priced, making it an excellent choice for those on a tight budget.
  • Capacity: The Melitta Amano Brewer Pour Over carafe has a capacity of 700ml making it suitable for large batches of coffee

  • Temperature Control: The Melitta Amano lacks a temperature control, you must manually adjust the water temperature.
  • No Pre-programmed Settings: There are no pre-programmed settings on the Melitta Amano Brewer Pour Over.

For anybody searching for a quick and fashionable way to brew pour over coffee at home or at the office, the Melitta Amano coffee machine is a terrific choice. It looks beautiful on any countertop and is simple to use and clean - it's a win-win!

What is Filter Grind for Coffee?

By Graham Jones on Feb 29, 2024

Filter grind refers to the consistency of coffee grounds optimized for use in filter brewing methods. This encompasses a broad spectrum of devices from the classic drip coffee maker to pour-overs and the Aeropress. The grind size for these methods is typically medium, resembling coarse sand. This size ensures that hot water can properly extract the coffee's flavours and aromas without passing through too quickly, as it might with a finer grind, or too slowly, as with a coarser grind.
