Delivery and Returns

Delivery Update 06/08/25 – Royal Mail 48
Many Royal Mail 48 deliveries are delayed in certain areas due Royal Mail scanning issues and staff shortages. The Royal Mail tracking simply says 'We are expecting it'. This is not correct. Royal Mail collects from Redber daily at 16h00.  All our orders are dispatched within 24 to 48 hours.  Please allow a little extra time for your order to arrive. If your parcel is urgent we suggest you use the 24 hour service.

Due to the poor services our customers are receiving from Royal Mail we will be reviewing the companies we use for delivery in the coming months.

You can find the latest updates from Royal Mail here.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Description

Peru Chanchamayo Medium-Dark Roast offers a more balanced coffee experience with a medium body and a refined flavour profile. This roast level preserves the natural complexity of the beans, featuring smooth notes of caramel, gentle cedar undertones, and a hint of cinnamon spice, complemented by a medium body and a clean, pleasant finish.

Flavour Profile and Aroma

  • Flavours: Caramel, cedar, cinnamon
  • Aroma: Sweet with woody and spicy undertones
  • Body: Medium, smooth
  • Acidity: Medium

Brewing Methods and Serving Suggestions

For a smooth and well-rounded cup, the medium-dark roast of Peru Chanchamayo is ideal for pour-over methods like V60 or Chemex, which enhance its caramel sweetness and cedar notes while maintaining a clean finish. It also performs excellently in a drip coffee maker, where its balanced profile and medium body can be fully appreciated. For a more concentrated and nuanced brew, try using an Aeropress.

Peruvian Coffee Origin and Details

Grown in the Chanchamayo region of Peru, this coffee comes from small farms at high altitudes between 1,200 and 1,350 metres above sea level. The farms belong to small producers with less than two hectares of land, generating around 3,000 lbs. of coffee per harvest. The beans are shade-grown at high altitudes, leading to a denser bean and a more complex cup profile due to its slow maturation. The producers use sustainable farming practices, and the beans are washed and sun-dried, which helps develop a rich, vibrant flavour profile with a cupping score of 80+.

  • Country: Peru
  • Altitude: 1,200 - 1,350 m above sea level
  • Varietal: Caturra, Typica, Pache, Bourbon
  • Processing Method: Washed, sun-dried
  • Harvest Period: June - August/September
  • Cupping Score: 80+

Take a chanch on me

This is unlike any other Redber coffee I have tried. It is clearly very classy. It has some vegetal notes which are interesting, and it is also less sweet than most coffees - not bitter at all - but not sweet. This seems contrary to some other reviewer's findings.
You mention cedar in its profile which is, of course, a very big vegetable. I think I detect some smaller ones.
An interesting beverage.

Excellent all round coffee

I've used this coffee in pour over, Moka pot, aeropress, and filter, and it has been fantastic in all. Very smooth, nice chocolatey all round coffee

Lovely smooth coffee.

I really liked this. Works well for Americano with a bit of millk. I think it will replace Columbia Huilo Excelsio as my go-to coffee.
