Mexico Mountain Water Decaf - Dark Roast

Chocolate
Spice
Lemon

This is an excellent choice for anyone who enjoys a stronger-tasting decaf with depth and smoothness in every cup. It works beautifully as an espresso and performs equally well in bean-to-cup machines or a moka pot. The deep chocolate notes also make it ideal for milk-based drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos.

Ideal for those who love a bold decaf with a robust flavour profile, this dark roast is perfect for bean-to-cup machines, espresso, moka pot. The deep chocolate and spicy notes also work well in milk-based drinks like lattes or cappuccinos.

The Mexico Mountain Water Decaf comes from the Finca La Laja farm, a single estate near Huatusco, Veracruz, at an altitude of 1,100 metres. The farm, owned by the Sampieri family for three generations, is certified for sustainable production. The coffee undergoes the Mountain Water Process (MWP) by DESCAMEX, which uses pure glacier water from Mexico's highest mountain to gently remove caffeine while retaining the beans' original flavour profile.

Acceptable decaf

Since I took the time to review the Central American Decaf Blend and pan it, I feel it is only fair to also write that, especially by comparison, this Mexican Mountain Water Blend is OK. Of course, if it was not a decaf, it would be hurled in the bin, but that's how things are.

In terms of taste - I drink it as an americano - it has enough fruit and flavour to more or less mask the invariable rotten grass / medicine savour of decaf. It's not enough to forget it is a decaf, but also it does not feel as punishment. As an espresso it is a little better, but that does not fit with my lifestyle.

Four stars for a very acceptable decaf with a tolerable aftertaste.

couldn't drink it

Tasted like rat sh*t. I tried and tried. Left it for two weeks, came back and tried again. Tried it again with a friend, to check it wasn't me. Nope. We agreed, it was disgusting. I ripped the whole kilo pack in the bin.

Best Decaf Coffee ever

Red bet is excellent. I’ve been using them for around 4 months now and the coffee arrives so fresh! The decaf beans are the best I have ever found

Fantastic decaf

Decaf coffee that doesn’t taste like decaf coffee. Fantastic!

Love the decaff

I’m so often disappointed by decaffeinated beans. Redber is delivering the strong tastes I like. I refuse to compromise on my coffee just because I’m caffeine sensitive! These beans provide exactly what I’m after!

Smooth and fruity

This is such a wonderful coffee and one of the best decaf coffees I’ve tried - from taste alone one would never guess it is decaffeinated. It makes an utterly delicious smooth espresso with fruity undertones.

A great dark blend decaf!

The coffee is great, especially for decaf. We do like it, yet for us the central American blend has a little more of a aftertaste we prefer. This is still a solid favourite and will be ordering again.

Great coffee.

I’m am so happy to find a coffee roaster who understands that even though I drink decaf I still want the strength intensity of a quality dark roast. This coffee delivers that in spades. I have shared it with friends who cannot believe it when I tell them it’s decaf.
Thanks guys, you have made a fussy man very happy 😊

Better than supermarkets

My favourite decaf beans. Buy them regularly which says it all. Not found anything I prefer on net or high street.

Not anywhere near as nice as previous orders

Not a nice batch. Previous orders were far nicer. I sent an email with feedback but received no response.

Mexican decaf

Disappointing. Weak even on strong machine setting.

trying an alternative

This is a pleasant enough coffee but doesn’t have the richer rounded flavour of the Colombian Medellin decaf that I have also bought

Great Coffee, great service.

Fresh roasted and ground coffee, delivered quickly. Mexican Mountain water decaf a rich and tasty decaf, just don't make it weak.

Repeat purchase

I love this coffee as it tastes great whatever method I use. Usually have medium/dark but prefer it dark roast as I did this time. Beans stay whole and grind well from espresso grind to cafetière grind.

A good dark roast, the beans were still shiny,

Seems to differ according to who’s roasting

I like a really dark French roast, but most times I order this the roast isn’t quite dark enough. Whoever roasted on 8 August didn’t do a bad job, but the dark could be a little darker.

Pretty good

I prefer a water processed decaf. Hopefully other blends will become available.
