A good Christmas mug gets used from the first cold mornings of autumn right through to the New Year. Emma Bridgewater’s seasonal designs combine the familiar English earthenware shapes with winter illustrations, festive wording and gift-friendly patterns.
For 2026, we have grouped the current range in our Emma Bridgewater Christmas Mugs collection.
London at Christmas
The London At Christmas Half Pint Mug is a strong choice for anyone who likes British-themed pottery or has a connection to London. It works both as a Christmas mug and as a souvenir-style gift without feeling disposable or novelty-led.
Winter woodland designs
Midnight Deer, Midnight Robin and Midnight Hare take a quieter approach to Christmas. These work well if you want a seasonal mug that can comfortably stay in the cupboard after Boxing Day. The darker winter palette also makes them easy to mix with more traditional festive pieces.
Gingerbread and festive kitchen designs
Gingerbread and Christmas Dresser designs lean more heavily into the traditional Christmas kitchen. They are particularly good for hot chocolate, coffee mornings and gifting alongside biscuits or sweet treats.
Which size should you choose?
Most of the festive designs in our range use the classic Half Pint shape. Current Emma Bridgewater Half Pint mugs are generally around 300ml, which is a good everyday capacity for tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Always check the individual listing because specifications can vary between products.
Are Emma Bridgewater Christmas mugs dishwasher safe?
Many current English earthenware mugs are dishwasher safe, with liquid detergent recommended to help maintain the decoration. Microwave use is generally not recommended because earthenware can become hot. Follow the care instructions on the individual product page.
Christmas gift ideas
- Pair a festive mug with a bag of freshly roasted coffee.
- Add hot chocolate or biscuits for a simple ready-to-use gift.
- Choose a winter animal design for someone who prefers subtle seasonal pieces.
- Choose London, Gingerbread or a Christmas-specific pattern for a more obviously festive present.
Do Christmas designs come back every year?
Not necessarily. Seasonal ranges change, and older designs can be discontinued or replaced. If you are buying a matching piece for an existing collection, check the exact design name rather than assuming it will remain in the range.
