Convertible Device Holder
The Baratza Sette 270 Coffee Burr Grinder comes with a built-in convertible holder, giving you the option to grind straight into your portafilter, the provided grounds bin, or other widely used brewing devices such as Hario, Clever, Able Kone, and AeroPress®. This feature sets it apart from other home grinders. Additionally, the included grounds bin is crafted from an anti-static plastic and has a moulded spout for effortless pouring into your chosen brewing device. The adjustable portafilter arms can fit most sizes of portafilters and even has an integrated hook for added stability.
Duty Cycle
The Sette was designed for a maximum of 1 kg per day, with an espresso duty cycle of 10%. We want to remind everyone buying the Sette grinder that it was designed for home use (short duration grinding).
Here is a general overview of the duty cycle of the Sette Series:
- Espresso: (Settings 3-9) it will take about 6 seconds to grind a dose of espresso, then the grinder should rest for 60 seconds. This is about what you could do if making back-to-back shots on a one-group machine.
- Brew (Setting 15-30) it will take 5 to 30 seconds to grind up to 150 grams of coffee, then the grinder should rest for 60 seconds. Remember, a maximum of 150 grams at one time, with a 1 minute off before grinding again.
The duty cycles described above will work great for home brewing. If you choose to use it in a commercial situation, please think about the Sette’s duty cycle function and decide if this will be a successful choice for your bar setup.
