Many of the Indonesian islands were formed by volcanoes. They are therefore mountainous and have rich soil that is ideal for growing coffee. Some of the world's famous coffees are grown on the islands of the Malay Archipelago: Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi. Approximately 15% of all the coffee grown in Indonesia is Arabica.
Sumatra Mandheling coffee is grown on volcanic slopes of Mount Leuser near port Padang in the Black region (west-central Sumatra).
Amazing fragrance and the aftertaste of this coffee is second to none. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a coffee with a nice and pleasant taste.
Our third coffee from Redbers and this one is just as good as the others. We are very pleased with the quality of each coffee and the service.
Coffee is wonderful! Recommended if you want a good body in your coffee.
An excellent decaffeinated coffee. I fully recommend it.
I usually buy Old Brown Java from Redber and that to me is the definition of coffee. I am a picky person and I did not feel that the Sumatra Mandheling measured up. At first I thought it would, as the aroma in the packet was perfect - pure and delightful. Unfortunately using my customary French press did not convert the ground coffee into a correspondingly perfect cup of coffee. It was ok - no bad features - and maybe others would find it lovely. It tasted to me like it should be made as latte or cappuccino - for people who liked a mild but high quality coffee. As I say I'm sure many people would find it to be their favourite quaff but for me it doesn't have the character of OBJ,sorry.
