With a family history in Panama dating back to the 1890s, the Suarez family has been growing coffee in Boquete since the 1920s. The estate is planted primarily with Typica variety coffee along with a smaller percentage of Catuai and Caturra. The soil is of volcanic origin, which is ideal for excellent tasting coffee. The topography is irregular and provides spectacular views of the Baru Volcano. It also has a wide variety of flora and wildlife, including white-neck monkeys, venison, rabbits and several native birds. Four natural springs either originate or run across the estate, which help make the soil rich and well balanced.
This coffee is packed with rich, smooth flavors and the elegance of a refined, yet approachable flavor profile. Notes of pecan and sweet green grape are in the forefront when smelling the roasted beans. The grounds release a toffee like richness and a nutty, grain like quality that carries over well into the cup.
