Buttery mouthfeel, sweet acidity with notes of banoffee with a smooth and clean finish.

The La Sofia Supremo coffee is a screen 19, collected from thirty small-scale producers in the veredas of El Tigre, La Selva, Tribunas, Providencia and Patio Bonito. These are all located in the Belén de Umbría region of the Risaralda department in Colombia’s western Andes mountain range. The municipality is located at 1500 meters above sea level, where the average temperature remains at a steady 20°C year-round.

The main harvest is collected in the second semester, from October to November. The mitaca or secondary harvest is collected in the first semester, from March to April. Belén de Umbría ranks amongst the country’s major coffee producing towns, coming in at the tenth position nationally in terms of volume. Farmers in the area typically own a 4 to 6 hectare farm, where they predominantly grow the Castillo variety. The producers wet-process their own cherries. Parchment is dried on patios or in driers, depending on the weather conditions.

Coffee was good as usual but the ‘free gift’ not included with the delivery. I complained and received a rather cursory dismissal from someone supposedly giving service. I shall now look for other more customer focussed suppliers.

Really Impressed

I bought these beans to grind on my Sage Pro. I use grind setting 50 for a Filter coffee drink. I have also used this for a pour over using setting 48. I find this to be a great natural balanced coffee with no bitterness. The liquid is easy drinking with a light taste. I am keen to move away from heavy body, strong tasting coffee. I am gradually softening my urge to buy a dark roast for more lighter roasts. The Caffeine remains stronger with lighter blends which is great and provides a fresher taste. I enjoy drinking a few cups of black filter style which a darker roasts at time needs a cup of water to stop dry mouth. I have found i no longer need water with this coffee to clean the pallet after drinking. I will buy these beans again but now i am on a hunt for a few other "go-to" beans before settling. Happy to recommend these beans.

Americas Coffees

I originally bought an Americas Gift selection. Loved it so much just had to buy it all again in larger quantities! Excellent coffee, excellent service. Thank you

Colombia Finca Sofia

So the Colombia Finca Sofia from redber has been my favourite all time blend. Its rich mouthfeel combined with notes of banoffee make it a real winner for either espresso (my choice) or milk based drinks
