Getting Started

I want to buy a complete Water Filtration system, Where do I start?

We have a range of complete system for water filtration. You have the choice of our Bean to Cup or Commercial filter systems - choosing between these two depends on the set up you have and what you are filtering the water for. You can read through this information page do find out which would suit your needs best. Below you will find information about each of our Complete water filter systems.

How do I find out what size water filter I need?

You can work out the size you need by checking the capacity of the water filters and comparing this to your own water usage. For example - if you are looking for a water filter for your espresso machine, and you are serving around 20 espressos and

You can work out your water usage by calculating the water you are using from the amount of cups of coffees/hot drinks you are serving - say an espresso is around 40ml/50ml and an Americano/Cup of tea is around 200ml. If you are serving around 100 Espressos and 100 Americanos a day, that would equate to 25 Litres of water a day, and around 750 Litres a month. You should look at changing the cartridge/refill of your water filter every few months - in this example the capacity you would need would be around 3000 Litres for 4 months. If you were looking for a water filter for this capacity, you could choose from the iX Filter 02, Everpure Claris Ultra 500 or the Brita Purity C300.

Reverse Osmosis

Our Reverse Osmosis Systems Explained...

The Everpure Conserv 75E is a solution that brings the benefits of reverse osmosis (RO) water to coffee applications. It combines a carbon filter, scale inhibition, calcite feeder and blending to create the right balance of minerals to prevent both corrosion and scale formation, differentiating it from conventional RO systems.

It is a reliable, simple to install and easy to operate solution that requires cartridge changes only once a year.

The system helps users meet foodservice equipment manufacturers’ water specification requirements, maintaining warranty compliance, reducing premature warranty claims, increasing equipment life, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Why does Reverse Osmosis make great Coffee?

it’s often forgotten that a cup of coffee is 98% water. The invisible chemicals and minerals that are dissolved in your feed water can have a dramatic and occasionally disastrous effect on the taste of your coffee. Modern reverse osmosis systems allow brewers to remove the undesirable contaminants from coffee machine feed water while keeping certain minerals that aid extraction of flavour from ground coffee and improve flavour.

What to do when System Error 14 appears on your Melitta coffee machine?

System Error 14 is mostly either a stuck bean in the hopper or in the bean hopper.

To fix this error, the first easiest step is to empty out the beans. You can use vacuum cleaner to suck out all the coffee beans out of the chute. Then give the chute a good wipe with a microfiber cloth to clean the oil residues from the coffee beans. This process should hopefully fix the issue.

If the error persists, you need to lift the cylinder that sits between the two hoppers and give it a good clean. Removing the cylinder s does not affect the warranty. If you need help with this step, you can give us a ring and we can guide you through it.

To prevent beans being stuck in the chute, make sure particularly oily beans do not sit in the hopper for more than couple of days.

If you have done all the above and the system error persists, please call the technical service line at Melitta on 0800 028 8002.
